“I am just a victim of circumstances.
I am just a perceived enemy of the

they feel that arresting Jonathan

How Trey Songz reacted after eating Nigerian
‘Jollof Rice’ – American superstar Trey Songs
was recently pictured with Yemi Alade – Trey
had a plate of jollof rice before him – One can
see the excitement on his face as he tastes
the food. A recent photo shared by Yemi Alade
shows herself, American musician Trey Songs,
and an unidentified man eating in Nairobi,
Kenya.
This is normal right? But for the look on Trey’s
face when it dawned on him that he will be
trying Jollof rice for what may have been his
first time. I mean, the international superstar
was obviously so excited that he smiled from
ear to ear.
Trey is in Nairobi to perform at a special
edition of Coke Studio Africa. It is unclear
whether he will be taking to the stage with our
very own Yemi Alade.
The Nigerian equivalent popularly called ‘party
rice’ is often regarded as the most tasteful
version. This post was inspired by the ongoing
argument between nigerian and ghanians on
who’s got the best ”jollof rice”
Have you heard all you Ghanaians? Nigerian
Jollof rules!

An Italian news anchor has suffered a massive wardrobe fail when she accidentally exposed a boob during live TV.
Marika Fruscio, who is known for her wearing revealing outfits, was presenting on Channel 7 Gold when she suffered a wardrobe malfunction.
The clip, which was originally posted on YouTube four years ago, has resurfaced online AGAIN and people have started talking AGAIN, lol.
It shows the presenter in an extremely low-cut dress baring her flesh when one of her boob just slips out during the broadcast, leaving viewers baffled.
The “accident” happens when she leans back during a debate between her co-hosts.
Fruscio eventually realises what had happened and covers up her cleavage.
The clip has attracted the attention of many viewers who have been left hot under the collar.
One user commented: “I would not be able to concentrate if this was on my TV.”
Another viewer wrote: “All I can say with this is that she is beautiful.” Others believe that the stunt was done deliberately.
One user commented: “She does this on purpose – you can tell as she looks down at the broadcast monitor.”
The presenter rose to fame in Italy for her personality and her 37g bust.

The best period to know an individual’s true character is in times of crisis. Anybody can lay claim to being anything when all is well but when the tide turns only then is true character reflected.
It is for this reason I wonder what it would be like to conduct a patriotism test on Nigerians in this time of economic crisis, the worst in about three decades.
The country is officially now in recession we are made to understand but there is nothing facing Nigerians right now that they have not seen or felt in the last one and half years or more.
What may be different is the degree of severity of the crisis.
How much longer can things hold, to what extent can Nigerians truly say that they are proud to be Nigerians to say nothing of taking pride in how the country is being governed? Faced, for instance, now with some form of external aggression how many Nigerians would be willing to fight for the protection of their fatherland? Readiness to serve one’s country in times of war is often seen as a sign of patriotism.
Should Nigeria be confronted with such situation now, who are the patriotic Nigerians that would be willing to take up arms against the enemies of the country? In talking about patriotic Nigerians, I’m by no means talking about our political leaders.
They are professional patriots to the same degree they are professional politicians.
While government leaders all over the world are well known for their rallying call for their people to be patriotic, Nigerian leaders are especially eager to urge patriotism on their compatriots.
They appear to eat and drink patriotism but all they have to show for this is the bankruptcy of their leadership. This patriotism test is therefore not for them.
But for the rest of us who can feel the bite of recession, who now have to make do with far less.
For the Nigerian who is now at a crossroads as to where she would get money for the sustenance of her family- put food on the table, pay mortgage or house rent, pay school fees as the schools reopen for another session- how much more is such an individual expected to endure, what more sacrifice can they make?
In practical terms, patriotism is a show of forbearance and a readiness to make sacrifice for the common good.
While those who are fed by the state, live in free housing and whose cars are provided by and fuelled on the bill of the state can glibly talk about patriotism and ask their less resourced compatriots to make sacrifices, it is the ordinary people who bear the actual burden of patriotism.
It’s they who take on the burden of sacrifice. And now there is great hunger in the land should the same people be expected to take on additional burden of sacrifice? Nigerians are not happy about the state of the nation.
They worry about their future and the future of their children.
There is very little available to meet their needs. They often have to go without the basic necessities of life while their so-called leaders live in unearned opulence. Left with very little to share, they tear at one another and see their equally afflicted compatriots, ordinary people like themselves, as the enemy.
They go on to demonise one another forgetting they are all victims of a system created by a cruel leadership that has cornered the commonwealth and turned into personal wealth.
In this time of crisis when inflation has wiped off people’s savings and made nonsense of their ability to conserve for the future, it is easy to be painted bad, be made to appear unsympathetic to the situation in the country.
With the army of young Nigerians, graduates of several years struggling to secure their first job, with others past middle age being laid off work and made jobless in the prime of life, not many would be keen on platitudinous talk of patriotism.
The reality of deprivation strikes home too closely to be a matter of glamour. When a Nigerian whose only qualification is that she was once the wife of a president could lay claims to hundreds of millions of dollars and asserts her right to own such amount in these lean times, any talk of patriotism must sound like a crude joke if not a curse.
It is just because the gains of citizenship are not being equally or at least equitably parcelled out that it has become difficult to see ordinary Nigerians proudly identify with their country or their leaders.
Nigerians were once proud to be so identified. Their pride showed in the way they celebrated things Nigerian- the local football league, the then national carrier, the Nigerian Airways and in the infectious manner people spoke of the Nigerian spirit.
The murder of a Nigerian leader once united the people in national mourning. Even the worst critic of government mourned the death of Murtala Mohammed.
His ethnic origin didn’t matter, nor did people care whether he was a Muslim, Christian or Traditionalist. What counted was that he was a Nigerian nationalist cut down in his prime.
But today people couldn’t be bothered what become of leaders who make it a career purpose to empty the national treasury to acquire property in different parts of the world.
If President Buhari and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, rode to power by turning the word ‘change’ into a campaign slogan, it was clear that Nigerians expected to see that change. They invested so much in the hope that the future would be different.
But just one year after, the people appear cynical and are no longer buying into the change song of the government in power.
What does this make them? Unpatriotic? Certainly not! The pain of survival has sullied the hope of change and not many are keen on giving a quarter to a national leadership, not just the APC, that has failed them serially.
The government of the day is fast realising this and has changed tack. From the change the APC promised the people, the party is now urging the people to be the change they desire to see.
But the people have suffered for so long they see this change of song as yet another sign of betrayal.
They are not convinced that they’ve not again been taken for a ride. They want answers that the present government is either unable or is in no position to provide.
The more talk of change they hear, the more things remain the same, if not worse. Hunger pervades the land, the day’s government preaches patriotism and forbearance. But what can patriotic talk do for a hungry nation?

The  police prosecutor, Corporal Chinedu Njoku,
disagreed, yesterday, with the police report
over the alleged theft of N800,000 from
Ecobank preferred against one Edadu Collins,
insisting that the amount involved was N5.5
million, after proper investigation was carried
out.
The defendant, Collins, is facing a two-count
charge of stealing preferred against him by the
police. The defendant, who pleaded not guilty,
is an aluminium fabricator, who said he knew
nothing about the bank issue.
Corporal Njoku told the court that the
defendant committed the alleged offences
between January to March 2011 and is
punishable under Sections 409 and 285 of the
Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
He told the court that N800,000 was
transferred to a wrong account, which
happened to be the defendant’s and he did not
deem it necessary to report to the bank, rather
he went ahead and withdrew the money.
He further told the court that the actual
amount was N5.5 million, when it was
investigated. The defendant told the court that
his account had been giving him problem and
that he had to stop using it.
According to Collins, “I tried to renew the
account, but it proved abortive. I thought it
was the network but after a long while, the
bank could not solve the problem and I had to
abandon the account. “The bank attendant told
me to pay some money into the account so
that it can be rectified.
The attendant later asked me to wait.” The
defendant further told the court that he asked
the attendant several times to know what was
happening, “I was just told to calm down. By
7p.m., some men came and asked me to
follow them.
I asked where we were going, but none
responded. “I realised later that we were at the
police station and there, they started asking
me for the money.” Collins told the policemen
that he had not been using the account for a
long time, but they got evidence that he
withdrew from his account.
Magistrate O. Olagbende granted him
N100,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

Residents of Umuahia, Abia state Tuesday

Contrary to popular belief, starving yourself
will not help you loose weight. Rather, it will
do the opposite and cause you to gain weight.
Obesity is a crutch on many people’s lives as
it comes with a bunch of psychological
negatives like low self-esteem, depression, and
self-hate.
When you starve your body, your natural
instincts kick in. The body needs to survive. So
the fewer calories you consume, the more your
metabolism slows down. Your body will release
a hormone called leptin which increases your
appetite and hunger which will cause you to
eat more than you regularly do.
People easily get discouraged when trying to
lose weight and do not see results as quickly
as they wish to. This causes stress eating or
emotional eating, eating to console yourself
rather than eating because of hunger.
The desire to lose weight alone is not enough
as restricting yourself from eating can
permanently slow down your body’s
metabolism.
To lose weight, one must be patient, optimistic
and disciplined. Get on a diet that does not
deprive nor harm you, pair that with a
moderate workout plan.
Don’t workout hard, workout smart!
Consistency is key.

Who knows? One day one day, Linda Ikeji will
surprise the whole country the day she announces
she would be getting married.
The person who wants to fill up the vacancy
position of bridesmaid is no other than Denrele
Edun who is more or less her bestie. That was
since their undergraduate days in Unilag.
Today is the 36th birthday of one of Nigeria’s
populous bloggers and Denrele in a birthday
shoutout, used small style to tell her that he
would be the one to be her bridesmaid.
He also gave a run down of how their friendship
started.

A woman shared a picture of herself breastfeeding her sister’s son while the boy’s mother was away – and that woman’s sister later returned the favor.
The photo appeared Saturday on Breastfeeding Mama Talk, a board on Facebook.
Founder Kristy Kemp started it in 2012 because she wanted to create a space for breastfeeding mothers to exchange information. She regularly shares pictures of fellow mothers recounting their breastfeeding experiences.
The photo shared on Saturday shows a woman smiling at the camera while breastfeeding her sister’s son. The baby boy’s mother had left a bottle of her own pumped milk behind, but he wouldn’t accept it.
The bottle of pumped breast milk left by the sister was untouched at that point. But the woman’s sister gave away her milk too.
Feeding a baby another woman’s milk is called wet nursing. When two women swap their milk, as happened in that instance, is also known as cross nursing.

So here I am! Between four years it took, I’m
leaving Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
Where to from here? The answer to that question
is as varied as the students who make up this
year’s Religious Management and Cultural
Studies, graduating class.
Many of us know or claim to know exactly the
next step to take, whether that step is to go for
internship, a fulltime job, or even a backpacking
trip through Europe. I am ready to join the
workforce, educated and prepared. I am excited!.
The big thing about University is learning about
yourself, and many of us will leave our majors
with some vague idea of the job we’d like to get
or business we’d like to start, but nothing more.
Whatever we decide, most of us will agree that
Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, was a perfect
place to foster our minds and bodies in this
critical learning phase.
The same can be said of our wonderful university.
I’m a totally different person than I was coming in
as a freshman four years ago. I hope I’m also a
better one. I’ve learned so much about —my field,
my interests, myself, and so on—I feel like, were I
to go back in time, my younger self wouldn’t even
recognize me! I can only hope this passion for
learning carries over. I suppose reallife experience
will teach me a lot either way.
The biggest thing I learned—and again, is that we
only get one trip around this rock, so we might as
well enjoy it. You have to find a balance between
work school and fun. “All work and no play makes
Jack a dull boy.” It’s not just a quote from a
movie; it’s the truth. A wellrounded person is
someone who knows a little bit about every topic
his or her friends discuss, and an interesting
person can take that info and have a
conversation about it, even if his or her
knowledge is lacking.
To everyone who touched my live, I say thank
you. To my Mother and family member who
stood by me no matter what. To lecturers who
tried to instill in me a passion for learning. To
advisers who helped us decide what path to take.
To friends who were there for weekend hang- out,
parties, study sessions, and everything in
between. And to all those others we depend on.
Without you—without each other—there would be
no purpose to being here, no way to advance.
Life, like society, is exactly what we make of it.
Thanks to all the loving, kind people I’ve met
during my time in Ambrose Alli University,
Ekpoma, my concerns about both life and society
are much smaller. If even half the people I
encounter after I leave here are anything like my
Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma cohorts, I know
I’ll have nothing to worry about.
And so, I’m sure I will remember my school days
—clearly for the rest of my life.
Sincerely, and from the bottom of my heart, thank
you all.
